Volkl Mantra, a total rebuild of this very popular ski last season proved to be a real winning move, the new M7 has a modified tip that Volkl says will initiate a turn better and quicker than what the M6 did. For the money the M6 is a better value, but if you want the new 4D Sidecut the 2025 M7 is the ski for you. To us this is the most exciting new all-mountain ski from Volkl for many years, we already have a few of these sold to friends for when they come in, at 96mm under foot it will be good in deep powder for a skier who is advanced enough to stay centred, good skiers don't need a wider ski for deep powder.

The most outstanding feature of the Volkl skis with 4D radius is how well they hold an edge at any radius through the turn shape, you find yourself really enjoying the great edge hold, where other skis would be starting to slip to hold the radius of the turn.

The Mantra M6 has a big change from the M5, and now the all new M7 takes it one step further again with modified tapering in the ski tip, with a changed shorter turn radius and best of all a variable amount of Titanal used in the core, heavier more aggressive skiers get full titanal, lighter weight skiers on a shorter length ski get less Titanal to suit their weight and level of performance.

Volkl decided to bring back the camber in the M5 and M6 and make this once great ski even better than the original, the addition of 4D radius and variable carbon tips takes the M7 to another level.

The M7 Mantra's waist has remained at 96 mm.

Reinforced with a tailored Titanal frame, the M7 Mantra still cranks out some solid turns at speed with extreme stability.

Wider tip shape: Improves float in deeper snow as well as providing better edge hold when you put the ski on edge and want to make more sweeping, GS-style turns.
Redesigned carbon stringers in the tip: Creating a softer and lighter nose for less swing weight, a more forgiving flex, and easier turn initiation.
4D radius sidecut- Compared to the previous "3D Radius," this additional 4th radius from the redesigned tip shape allows for even more turn shapes on demand.
Revised titanal frame: Compared to the M6, Volkl reworked the ?Tailored Titanal Frame? to give the skis a slightly more forgiving flex while also tapering the topsheet to reveal the titanal layer and improve topsheet durability (i.e. less nicking and delam!).

Volkl's Tailored Titanal Frame:
The new M7 Mantra and Secret 96 feature Volkl's Tailored Titanal Frame, an improvement over the proven Titanal Frame construction from their predecessors. In contrast to the original design, the width of the top layer of titanal varies depending on the length of the ski. The tailored sections consist of 0.7 mm thick titanal frames above the sidewalls in the tip and tail areas. With this construction, the amount of titanal, and its corresponding damping and torsional flex, is tailored to the skier's height and weight depending on the length of the ski - in the longer lengths there is more metal, increasing torsional stiffness, power transmission and damping for larger, heavier skiers. The shorter the length, the less titanal is used, making the ski softer and more maneuverable so that smaller and lighter skiers can take full advantage of the added performance. In the binding area, a thinner titanal section with a thickness of only 0.3 mm creates enough integrity for binding retention while allowing a softer flex in the mid-body. The result is a truly incredible.

Tailored Carbon Fiber Tips:
This allows them to be positioned exactly along the stress lines, tailoring the torsional response at the tip of the ski, creating the ideal influence on its handling. The stiffness, torsional flex and skiing characteristics can be specifically adjusted via the strands, thicknesses and directional alignment. In this way, the fibers guide the response to the specific part of the ski where they are needed. The visibly-integrated Tailored Carbon Tips are light weight and allow a quick shovel reaction with less effort, with a lightning-fast build up of energy.
